It is not a requirement that you or your company are located in Denver to participate. The majority of the curriculum for Smart Futures Lab programming will be delivered virtually and recorded, so physical presence is not essential. However, use of the 5G lab and other collaboration spaces available to participants would require at least temporary travel to Denver to maximize the value of the program.
5G is the fifth generation of cellular (wireless) networks, which is an evolution from 4G that is currently widely used today. 5G provides transformational changes to how things connect to the internet wirelessly, and it provides a tremendous new tool for cities to communicate with things in an urban environment in real-time.

A review committee of eight industry leaders including the A(https://smartfutureslab.com/team)dvisory Council (https://smartfutureslab.com/team)will evaluate applications based on which companies are most likely to benefit from the program. Factors they will take into consideration include:
How mature is the company?
• Is the solution, product or service in alignment with smart cities?
• What is the potential of the company to grow and create jobs?
• What experience does the company or entrepreneur have?
• How is the company considering equity in their company?
• Can this company benefit from the program?
• How can this company benefit Colorado?
